Scene maps, it's very worth it either way. Scene maps and other maps/items for Studio, get those as it's all quality stuff, you do need IBL+Sceneloader for. VRK skins are also a must, so get them from the link in the OP.įrom Hongfire you can get various. I recommend you to get IBL, Allegretto, PlayKatsu, Honeyshot, the shortcut mods, DHH and Gamechanger, there are other useful plugin like Lockon if you need that QoL too, and a few other interesting utilities like Meshworks if you want to play around with imported XNA models.įrom the Mega folder, make sure you get all the various skins you find there, especially Nyachoo and Higeo's stuff, get all of those as it's quality stuff, you'll also find Saw's gorgeous hair packs, which look even better in PH thanks to its superior hair collisions, there's plenty of other stuff from dresses to accessory I suggest you to get, don't forget the cubemaps either. There's also some neat maps and unlike HS you can also use both PH and HS library of poses and animations thanks to mods, which is nice.Īs I said, the general interface is almost exactly the same outside of a few functions being in different places. The actual problem is that unlike HS it's hell to find all the equivalent mod since things like the PH Lockon plugin isn't in the pastebin, you need to go on Hongfire for that for instance, then you might want to get a particular IBL build, you gotta go check the modders' blogs if they have one (I use P's custom build for instance and the only link you can find is in Nyaacho's blog), in short, it's a big pain in the ass.Īs for the pros, PH looks a lot better than HS by default, thanks to the latests mods HS can more or less even the visual odds depending on how good you are, PH has the advantage of not needing nearly as much fiddling to look good and imho, it still has an edge for some things. Overall there's a few minor differences in terms of general interface here and there but nothing you won't be able to get used to. That said, PH Studio's advanced IK/FK is still WiP, BoneModoki also may cause slowdown depending on your machine, not sure whether Plasticmind's version of that plugin solved this, but I don't trust that much and last time I installed it it messed up my game, but that was a long time ago so I don't know whether the latest build is different.Ĭertain light settings in scene maps may also cause transparency bugs with hair, or other weird stuff like glowing mouths on some ported heads, iirc that's a problem with PH's shadersm to solve it you need to fiddle around with IBL settings, problems are mostly solved by tuning down or turning off a certain light source. Not a lot, originally Studio lacked a few key functions like being able to place light sources but nowadays there's barely any difference with Studio Neo when it comes to mods and functions. >is there any practical difference between PlayHome and Honey Select?
